Please read the news on how CLD is working through the issue.

Community Living Dufferin’s responsibility is to ensure the safety of the people we support and our staff. With this at the forefront of all decisions we make, here is what CLD is doing effective immediately:

1. Closing our main building to all visitors and renters;
2. Closing our day program (Options)
3. Suspending all Passport programs;
4. Closing our Respite program; and
5. Closing our Saturday Respite program.
6. Suspending all visits to and home visits from family members effective immediately.

Effective immediately, only scheduled staff, managers, (and essential service providers) will be permitted entrance to our CLD residential homes. Families can maintain communication with their family members through phone calls and/or technology.
If you wish to take your family member home, then please understand that they will be with you at your home until we know it is safe to welcome them back to their CLD home.

We feel it is in the best interest of everyone that we ensure safe distancing. This practice will help to curb the possibility of transferring the Corona virus.

Rest assured that we will revisit this decision as soon as we feel it is safe for all and on the advice of our government’s health ministry.
We will continue to provide our 24/7 residential and supportive independent living programs, however we are reducing our external activities for the people we support.

If you have been out of the country, have a dry cough, fever, headache we ask that you do not visit your loved one’s home until those symptoms have dissipated.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to me.

Thank you for your understanding as we work through this situation.
